Engine Preheat System – P&W 9 cylinder engines
This preheat kit contains electrical resistance heat elements located on each cylinder assembly, and six pad heat elements (engine crankcase, hydraulic tank, oil cooler, and 2 or 1 on engine oil tank). This multipoint configuration fully preheats the engine and attached accessories for reduced wear on startup and reduced run-up times at any temperature. Power is routed to the elements through a dedicated wiring assembly with system power indication and circuit overload protection. System is self-regulating through design. Heated components reach an average state of thermal equilibrium in approximately six hours.

Applicable on most P&W type 9RA engines: R-985 Wasp Jr. and R-1340 engines.
Applicable on AT-6G aircraft.
