I've had 2 sets of these in our Skylane for at least 15 years. They have performed perfectly and are still using their original rechargeable batteries. They don't have all the new bells and whistles but sure make our long trips a lot more pleasant. If I needed new ones I'd certainly give Pilot strong consideration. My only need for service was after I dropped one and needed a repair--service was quick and correct and very friendly. Thanks Pilot.
I have an early version (12 plus years) in my Mooney and couldn't be happier with it. A few years ago I bought a Bose A10 for my wife because I thought she would like the low clamping pressure. I tried it for a while but preferred my Pilot headset. One time when using the Bose, the batteries died just after take off and proved how poor the A10 is in passive only mode. It was so bad I wasn't sure I would be able to hear the controllers. As for ANR, the Pilot is equal or better in my opinion. Mine has the simple connector for panel power which makes it quick and easy (read cheap) to tie into the ships power versus the not easy Lemo plug. I'll keep my Pilot headset, the Bose stays the right side. Service and support from Pilot-USA has always been outstanding. After many years, and 1400 hours, of service I sent my headset in for reconditioning and it was promptly returned as good as new. In my opinion they make the best headset on the market, and at the best value too.
