The AppStrap 6 fits heavy-duty and military cases like the OtterBox, Survivor, and Gumdrop, or cases .7 inches (or less) thick. The AS-6 uses two form-fitting black polycarbonate clips and comes with an adjustable leg strap with pen holder, and 2 Tilt Pads for angled-up viewing, device cooling, and enhanced stability. I have flown with lots of handheld GPSs and tablet computers in the cockpit. All of them involved clunky straps or mounts. I even designed my own straps using velcro tape around my thigh. The AppStrap solves all those problems and does it in a simple, professional manner. It allows either you to switch between portrait and landscape orientations in less than 5 seconds, and most important in opinion it provides an extremely rigid platform for typing and touching the iPad screen. Many mounting schemes are so loose that you can barely input a 3 letter identifier correctly. Not so with the rugged, solid AppStrap. I highly recommend this device for anyone flying with an iPad. It is short money for a more elegant experience!
